Miss Tara

Children are worth the effort Today, Tomorrow and Beyond.

Hi, I'm Miss Tara

(Educational Leader) My name is Tamara, but everyone calls me Tara

I lived in Lennox Head since 2001 after moving here with my Mum (Jannette) and my sister (Sophie). I have two amazing neices, Frankie and Poppy, who you may see me spoiling around town. A few years ago I relocated to the Gold Coast to be with my partner Michael, stepson Matthew and our pup Indy on the Gold Coast. I love our centre and our community so much I travel to be here with you all. Dont worry, I don't drive everyday... I'm Luckily enough to be able to stay down during the week with mum (unless family or hockey commitments call me back.)

I will be taking some leave in 2021 as Michael and I are growing our family 🙂

After relieving at the preschool for a short time in 2007, I was fortunate enough to be included in the team. I commenced studying at this time and completed my Certificate III and Diploma in Children's Services before moving onto my Bachelor's degree.

I completed my Bachelor of Education (Birth - Five years) through Charles Sturt University in 2013.

I have completed my Masters of Education, in 2020, through Southern Cross University Online.

I am currently completing my Cert IV in training and assessment to be able to support the educators and leaders of tomorrow!

I am extremely passionate about working with your children. I endeavour to provide enriched quality care and education through my interactions with children, families and colleagues.

I am the Educational Leader of the Preschool and through this role I support the professional development of our team to increase the quality of programming, planning and interactions we provide.

I have many hobbies which change frequently. Including open water swimming, diving, running, weightlifting and basically anything that gets be outdoors or active! I play hockey for Mudgeeraba hockey club and spend my weekends umpiring hockey on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane.

I love reading and learning and am constantly seeking ways to stimulate my brain as well as being physically fit and active.

I am also an accredited National (Australian) Umpire. I travel around Australia umpiring at National tournaments. I am currently on the top National Panel which officiates the HockeyONE series and U21 National series. I have received my recommendation for International assessment and am awaiting allocation for this to take place.

I'd love to learn about you and your family which helps me to collaborate with you and provide the best possible care and education for your children
