Miss Sophie

Children are worth the effort Today, Tomorrow and Beyond.

Miss Sophie

Lorem ipMy name is Sophie Leonard, I am a qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Southern Queensland. I have worked here at Preschool since 2010 but am lucky enough to have grown up and lived in this beautiful town since 2001 with my Mum (Jannette) and sister (Tara) and am now raising my 2 daughters, Frankie and Poppy, here.
We live in downtown Lennox where you will often see us walking everywhere. We love to go to the beach, lake, bike rides, park, hang out and have chinos.
I am a member of Lennox surf club as well as play lots of sport, rugby for the trojans, have played league tag for Byron Bay Red Devils, hockey, touch footy and am an avid Brisbane Broncos and Queensland supporter! I am a member of the Ballina Cabbage Tree Island Aboriginal Education Consultative group and work closely with our local Aboriginal community and schools.
I feel very lucky to work and live in such a wonderful community and Preschool. I am very proud of our service, our team and the connections we have to so many families, seeing their children grow from babies to coming back visiting from big school to seeing them working at the local shops as they get older. It’s a special moment when a teenager still calls you Miss Sophie and says hi but that’s the beauty of living in a tight knit community like ours.
If you see me around Lennox please feel free to say hi! I am very approachable and truely believe that establishing excellent, open and trusting relationships with each child and their family is the foundation for success for a child’s educational journey.
