Hi, I’m Miss Emily!

I moved to Lennox Head in 2004 after completing my Batchelor of Human Movement Science & Diploma of Education (Secondary PD/H/PE) at Southern Cross University, Lismore. For 13 years I worked locally as an Outdoor Recreation Teacher for the NSW Dept of Sport and worked as a casual teacher in local primary schools. I also worked for 2.5 years in Community Aged Care management and support! As teaching, care and relationships have been at the core of my career, the natural progression for me was Early Childhood Education. Subsequently, I completed a Graduate Diploma of Education (Early Childhood) in 2020 at Southern Cross University.

I feel it is a privilege to support children in their exploration and discovery of the world. My view of children is that they are all unique and different, and these differences are to be celebrated and supported through quality interactions, responsiveness and relationships with them. Collaborative partnerships with families are important for me as these relationships provide the link between culture and learning experiences for your child, so, I look forward to meeting you 😊

Outside of work, with my husband and two children, we love remote camping and exploring our beautiful Australian backyard. Ever since we took our kids out of school for a year and traversed the outback to experience diverse communities and environments, we can’t get enough of it! However, I do feel so fortunate to live and work in such a beautiful region and in a preschool that has such lovely links with our community.
